Gerald Stewart began his professional career at Walter Payton College Preparatory School, where he spent eight years as the Safety Director. Thereafter, Gerald became the founding Dean of Discipline at Gary Comer College Preparatory School within the Noble Street Network of charter schools. After two years of setting up a training program for incoming disciplinarians, he joined the Academy for Urban Leadership (AUSL) as a consultant for Chicago Public Schools. At AUSL’s Manager of Educational Support, Gerald led the hiring, training, and ongoing professional development of support staff at the network’s 32 schools. He also has been an A.P. of Culture and a Director of High School Climate in the North Lawndale neighborhood.
Mr. Stewart has received training in “Crisis Prevention and Preparedness:
Comprehensive School Safety Planning” from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). Such trainings have
been invaluable as he engaged in the ongoing process of equipping many
networks with cutting edge safety instruction. His work to improve culture and
climate school environment, and to equip individuals to be poised for success,
guides his daily goals as he leads Gerald Stewart Consultants LLC.
Gerald has worked with National Speaker National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Uncommon Schools Behavior and Culture as a Trainer, Certified Trainer Non Violent Crisis Intervention. Also, as a National speaker for K12 Teachers Alliance as a presenter.
